Escape for a Colorful Weekend in the Poconos!

Day 1 - Steam Through Jim Thorpe (L, D)
Be charmed by the town of Jim Thorpe, PA, often known as the “Switzerland of America.” Stroll through picturesque scenery on winding lanes and the village square as you celebrate fall at the annual Fall Foliage Festival!

It’s peak time to enjoy all the colors and flavors of autumn! Enjoy a three-course buffet lunch at Dean Anthony’s before an afternoon riding the rails!

Take to the soaring, colorful mountains during a vintage train ride along the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway.

Tuck into a delicious four-course dinner at the Vineyard Restaurant, known for its Italian recipes made from scratch! Relax for the night at the comfortable Bethlehem Hampton Inn.

Day 2: Bethlehem Oktoberfest (B)
Spielplatz, Masskrugstemmen, Kunstler…what Bavarian secrets will you find? Add a little fest to your Oktober at the annual Bethlehem Oktoberfest, an authentic German festival with a special Pennsylvania flair.

It’s a colorful party with live entertainment on two stages, a Festhalle Beer Tent, polka music and more! Don’t miss the glass blowing, Kunstler Markt for shopping, barrel rolling and stein races!

Taste your way through the German fare for lunch on your own as you enjoy all the festival has to offer. The day finishes with Dachshund races, a long standing European tradition and a fan favorite in Bethlehem. Will you find the secrets of Masskrugstemmen?
