Experience two days of American Royalty, as you explore the Philadelphia properties of the famous DuPont family. Visit their family home, Winterthur and one of their favorite places, Longwood Gardens, saved and curated by a prominent member of the DuPont family.
Day 1 - The Wait Is Over! (L, D)
Join Longwood’s summer of celebration with a guided tour during the day to experience the color and fragrance of the gardens. Return in the evening for an awe-inspiring illuminated fountain show choreographed to music!
Before the show, enjoy dinner at the historic Kennet Square Inn. Turn in for a good night’s sleep as you relax at the Fairfield Inn & Suites.
Day 2 – Summer in Winterthur (B, L)
Feel like a member of the DuPont family’s inner circle as you explore their family home, the Winterthur Mansion. On a guided tour, be transported to the fancy 1930s and ’40s. See how the DuPonts entertained friends, threw parties and even how they outfitted their spectacular bathrooms, which were ahead of their time. On a guided tram tour, be amazed at the spectacular gardens including the Azalea Woods, Magnolia Bend and the Enchanted Woods.
Finish your summer escape with lunch at the Brandywine Prime Restaurant featuring a glass of their very own house wine.
