Our journey south begins with a stop at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor before a night at the Hampton Inn in Roanoke Rapids, NC. Relax with new friends and unwind with hearty food at Cracker Barrel.
Day 2 – Hello, Myrtle Beach! (B, D)
Anticipation builds as we near our destination for the next three nights, the Marriott Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Hotel. This Residence Inn property is located directly on the shores of the majestic Atlantic Ocean and centrally located for easy access to the best the area has to offer. The award-winning Boardwalk known as The Boulevard, bright Ferris Wheel and a range of restaurants and shops are just minutes away! Featuring balconies in every room, the hotel also boasts an indoor swimming pool, outdoor firepits and direct beach access.
Tonight, enjoy a taste of TV at Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen, with its endless portions of Southern-Style entrees and side dishes. After dinner, our New Year’s Eve countdown continues with a visit to Brookgreen Gardens, the floral jewel of South Carolina. Strolling under moss-draped trees, see how Brookgreen will “Light Up the New Year” with thousands of lights illuminating America’s first sculpture garden. With our ticketed access to this sold-out event, you’ll behold bronze, marble and stone artworks illuminated with thousands of candles, holiday lights and festive music on this former plantation.
Day 3 – It’s New Year’s Eve! (B, D)
Today will feature dinner on Myrtle Beach’s famous Restaurant Row, two different shows and fireworks! Before it all, spend a relaxing morning, enjoying all the hotel has to offer, or choose an optional excursion to an old-world plantation with a Lowcountry lunch!

Feel the shade of wooded trails and enjoy river views during a guided tour of Hopsewee, a pre-Revolutionary War plantation that was home to a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Tour this National Landmark for a first-hand look at how its owners dined, entertained and slept more than 250 years ago. Highlights include a visit to the original slave quarters as well as a meet-and-greet with the plantation’s current owners! After working up an appetite, get ready for a Lowcountry lunch at the River Oak Cottage along the shores of the North Santee River. This afternoon, our group will gather again and head to the Alabama Theater for “The South’s Grandest Christmas Show!” From your orchestra seats, delight in a mix of traditional Christmas classics and contemporary holiday favorites, combining talent, scenery, comedy and special effects.
Following a three-course dinner at Thoroughbred’s Chophouse & Seafood Restaurant, the countdown to the New Year truly begins! The festivities start with a bang, with fireworks over Broadway at the Beach, the Carolina coast’s premiere shopping, dining, and entertainment destination.
After the pyrotechnics, you’ll behold what is called The World’s Greatest Live Tribute Show. “Legends In Concert” features Five Great Acts in One Grand Show, wowing capacity crowds for 20 years. From your orchestra seats, witness a cast of tribute singers, dancers and a live band. Not only do they sound like the original stars, they look and preform like them too! What a way to ring in the new year!
Day 4 – Starting New Traditions (B, D)
Test your resolutions with the scrumptious, made-from-scratch New Year’s Day brunch buffet at Tupelo Honey, while toasting friends with a complimentary, house cocktail! Then, it’s off to Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach, a shopping and entertainment wonder boasting more than 100 specialty retail shops and entertainment venues amidst a natural bird sanctuary.
Get ready for a Myrtle Beach foodie favorite, with an early, three-course dinner at Angelo’s, known for their homestyle pasta and steaks cut on premises. After dinner, celebrate the finale of your holiday escape at the one and only Carolina Opry. From your orchestra seats, feel the spirit of the season during the “Christmas Show of the South!” Surrounded by 35 Christmas trees, 75 wreaths, countless ornaments and mounds of snow, this is one performance not to be missed!
Day 5: Welcome to Washington! (B, D)
Today, sit back and enjoy the scenic drive to Washington, DC. Tonight, gather for a three-course, farewell dinner at Tony & Joe’s Seafood Restaurant on the water in Georgetown. Relax at the Hilton Garden Inn Arlington Courtyard Plaza for the night.
Day 6: Homeward Bound (B)
As we head north toward home, we’ll stop in the bustling and chic neighborhood of Georgetown with plenty of time for lunch on your own and shopping at the festive holiday market. Soak in the ambience of this charming area’s Federal-style architecture, cobblestone streets, restaurants, pubs and boutiques. Head home this afternoon with great memories and new friends that will last throughout the new year and beyond!
