Ride the rails to an Indian Summer in New England! With three train rides and a cruise, you’ll motor through the White Mountains in New Hampshire and the Green Mountains in Vermont. Travel deep into the heart of New England, featuring Quechee Gorge, Mount Washington, Squam Lake and more! Throughout your great rail adventure, you’ll make your home in Vermont, at the Lake Morey Resort. The prime location directly on the waterfront will stretch summer a little longer!

Day 1 - More on Lake Morey (D)
Settle in for your end-of-summer sojourn at the Lake Morey Resort, a third generation, family-owned property set on the banks of beautiful Lake Morey in Vermont. Arrive in time explore the resort’s waterfront,
formal gardens, game room, private beach and more! Tonight, enjoy a welcome dinner in the resort’s lakeside dining room.

Day 2 - Green Mountain RR (B, L, D)
Your first train is a scenic ride on the Green Mountain Railroad, featuring lunch on board. On this two* hour tour, see the Williams River as you roll through the mountain range, including a breathtaking ride over a high trestle with stunning views of the famous Okemo Mountain. Before the rails in the mountains, first we’ll head to the canyon. Quechee Gorge is fondly known as Vermont’s Little Grand Canyon. Take incredible selfie’s overlooking the gorge, 168 above the Otttaquechee River. The rest of the afternoon is yours to relax at the hotel and enjoy a pontoon tour of the lake. Wind down with dinner in the lakeside dining room.

*Due to an operational change made by Green Mountain Railroad, the train ride has changed from three hours to two hours long.  This change will now let us include a stop at the famous Vermont Country Store.

Day 3 - Two Trains, White Mountains and Mt. Washington (B, L, D)
After breakfast, travel deep into the White Mountain National Forest, where it’s all aboard the Cog Railroad, celebrating its 150th Anniversary. The Cog will climb to the summit of Mt. Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast. At the top, disembark and explore the Summit Visitor Center, museum, post office and 360 degree views. On a clear day, you can see up to five states, Canada and the Atlantic Ocean! This evening, board The Lafayette, rated one of the top dinner trains in the world by the Wall Street Journal. Savor an elegant five-course meal served aboard restored vintage rail cars as you chug through the beautiful vistas of the White Mountains.

Day 4 - Squam Lake Cruise (B, L)
Today, travel to Holderness, NH, to the waters of Squam Lake. Squam is the second-largest lake in New Hampshire and the filming location for the movie On Golden Pond. Board a canopied pontoon boat and cruise the lake’s calm, “golden” waters. Finish your escape with a farewell lunch at Walter’s Basin Restaurant overlooking the lake.
