Day 1: Thousand Islands & Alexandria Bay, NY (D)
Travel along the edge of the Adirondack Mountains on the way to Alexandria Bay. Located at the northern border of New York, on the shores of the St. Lawrence River, Alexandria Bay is a quaint riverside village featuring spectacular views, many attractions and just one stop light!
Begin with a Wine & Cheese welcome reception before checking in to your home for the next three nights, the Riveredge Resort. Located across from Boldt Castle, you can watch the river from your waterfront room. Tonight, tuck into a delicious dinner at the Bistro.
Day 2: Two Nations & Boldt Castle (B)
After breakfast, it’s all aboard a two-nation river cruise on American and Canadian waters, through the heart of the Thousand Islands. With your local guide, cruise the emerald green waters of the mighty St. Lawrence River, through narrow channels, over historic sunken wrecks, past magnificent mansions and more.
Back on land, travel through time on a unique tour of Boldt Castle, the century old castle that seems to float in the river.
After the tour, head to the nearby Thousand Islands Winery for a tour and tasting of wonderful local wines.
Day 3: Alexandria Bay or A Day in Ottawa (B)
Today is yours to relax and explore Alexandria Bay on your own. Or, choose an optional tour to Canada’s Capitol City of Ottawa, just a short drive over the border. This optional tour requires a passport.
Day 4: Alexandria Bay (B)
After breakfast, we head for The Antique Boat Museum, one of the premiere nautical museums in North America. On a guided tour, see the galleries overflowing with unique and beautifully-preserved artifacts of the seafaring and maritime world, the perfect goodbye to this beautiful archipelago.
