Warm up down south in the Golden Isles! Visit Amelia Island and Hilton Head, part of the Sea Islands, a chain of barrier islands off the southern Atlantic coast, known for relaxed resorts, colonial villages, stunning sunsets, ocean air and miles of pristine, uncrowded beaches. We’ll even make a stop in Savannah! Stroll, swim and take it in!

Day 1 – Baltimore to Roanoke (D)
Head south with a stop at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor! Explore this bustling seaport with time for lunch. After a group dinner, spend a restful night at the Hampton Inn in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.

Day 2 – Hello Low Country! (B, D)
Wind through the Carolinas and Georgia as we make our way to the Amelia Hotel at the Beach, your home for 4 nights. Overlooking the beach, this relaxed property is steps from the sand and a five-minute walk to Amelia Island’s quaint town
of Fernandina Beach. Tonight, start your southern sojourn in style with a low country boil served on the water!

Day 3 – Ahoy Amelia Island (B, D)
On a narrated driving tour, see the beauty and charm of this barrier island, from its pristine beaches, to luxurious resorts and Victorian architecture. On a horse drawn carriage tour of the seaport village of Fernandina Beach, experience the town
that was once the stomping ground for pirates, Gilded Age millionaires, bootleggers and of course, shrimpers! Finish the day with dinner at Brett’s Waterway Café overlooking the harbor and marina.

Day 4 – Island Hopping (B)
Today, take to the scenic inland waters of Amelia Island and Cumblerland Island on the Amelia River and Fancy Bluff Creek. Cruise by shrimp boats, historic Old Towne and Fort Clinch. We might see dolphins, otters and wild horses! The afternoon and evening are yours to enjoy more of Fernandina Beach’s vacation vibe! As part of the afternoon, we are pleased to present a unique experience: A Scavenger Hunt at the Amelia Island Museum!

Day 5 – Beach Day or Optional Tour (B)
What do you fancy today? Relax at the hotel, sun on the beach, swim in the ocean or stroll into town? Or, choose an optional day trip to St. Augustine.

The Fountain of Youth
Optional Tour to St. Augustine, FL
Enhance your trip with an optional tour to visit St. Augustine, America’s oldest city! Stroll the brick-lined streets and delight in the city’s European flavor on a guided tour. We’ll lunch at the iconic Columbia, the oldest restaurant in all of Florida! Of course, we’ll visit Ponce de Leon’s Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park, a can’t miss highlight! You can even sip from the actual fountain - not that you need it!
Enhance Your Trip - $114 per person

Day 6 – Oh Savannah! (B, D)
Next stop Savannah! On a guided tour of the city, see the antebellum homes, churches and town squares that give the city its other name: “The Belle of the South.” Then, it’s onward to Hilton Head, located off the southern tip of South Carolina.
Warmed by Gulf Stream breezes and framed by twelve miles of ivory beaches, Hilton Head is a leading vacation destination! Check into the Holiday Inn Express, fresh off a multi-million dollar restoration! Enjoy this resort style hotel nestled among tropical trees and lagoons, only a few minutes from the beach and downtown! Share a group dinner tonight at the Poseidon Restaurant.

Day 7 – The Treasured Coast (B, D)
See firsthand why this area is called The Treasured Coast on a guided tour that displays the marshes, rivers and forests competing with the ocean in daily beauty contests! Stop at Port Royal Sound and Fish Haul Creek Park, finishing with free time at Harbour Town Marina, reminiscent of a Mediterranean seaside fishing village. The day’s grand finale is a sunset cruise on the intracoastal, with a buffet dinner onboard.

Day 8 – Roanoke Redux (B, D)
Today, we bid farewell to The Isles, beginning our journey home, heading back to Roanoke, with a familiar, restful night at the Hampton Inn. Gather for a farewell dinner at David’s Restaurant with a complimentary glass of wine to toast friends and celebrate a great trip!

Day 9 – A Capitol Farewell (B)
On our way home, enjoy a stop at Washington, DC’s new Capitol Riverfront, bustling with shops, cafes, waterfront walkways and more. It’s the perfect finish to your southern getaway!
