Exploring Pittsburgh and Falling Water

Pittsburgh, known as the Steel City and the City of Bridges, is a leading American city that has gone through several rebirths. With a storied history as one of the key industrial cities in the country, the “New Pittsburgh” is vibrant, green and rated “one of America’s best places to live.” Located at the crossing of three rivers, the city skyline features a unique combination of towering skyscrapers, bridges and water. Experience Fallingwater, one of our most requested destinations.

Day 1: Pittsburgh and the Incline (D)
Arrive in the Steel City to check into your home for two nights – The Hampton Inn Waterfront hotel. Tonight, visit one of the city’s favorite attractions, the Duquesne Incline has been named by USA Today as “one of the top ten sites for viewing a cityscape.” Take a step back in time on a century-old, wooden cable car to see the best views of downtown Pittsburgh while riding one of the few remaining inclines in the country. At the top, you’ll enjoy an unforgettable dinner at Le Mont atop Mt. Washington, with a rare, sky-high view of the city. You’ll be treated to a glass of wine as you get to know your fellow travelers.

Day 2: Phipps Conservatory, Pittsburgh Duck Tour (B, L)
Enter a world of flowers at the Phipps Conservatory, the cultural and architectural centerpiece of the city. A soaring steel and glass Victorian greenhouse, Phipps is surrounded by some of the country’s most exclusive gardens and specimen flowers, cultivated since the late 1800’s. On a private tour with a conservatory expert, see how Phipps goes beyond flowers, visiting the Garden Railroad with miniature trains
chugging through the Sunken Garden, the Tropical Conservatory, the Fruit and Spice Room, and much more. Continue the day on both land and water with the famous Duck Tour! Roll through The ‘Burgh’s’ diverse neighborhoods featuring the Cultural District, the heart of downtown, the US Steel Tower and more before your Duck boat splashes into the water to cruise the three rivers surrounding the city. Your expert guide with delight you with stories and surprising secrets of the city, with humor and jokes that will sure to have you “quacking up!” This afternoon discover the art and mystery of one of the most world’s most famous artists, at the Andy Warhol Museum.
