75th Anniversary of the End of World War II

Join us for a four-day weekend full of of international charm and All-American excitement. Go around the world at the annual NATO Festival and International Military Tattoo, marking the 75th Anniversary of the end of World War II. Witness good old American muscle stationed at the largest Naval Base in the world! It all takes place in Norfolk, VA, named America’s Favorite City by Travel & Leisure Magazine.


Day 1 – Bridge Over Blue Waters (D)
Today our journey skirts the Chesapeake Bay on our way to the Virginia mainland. A special highlight of the day will be crossing the famous Chesapeake Bay Bridge, an architectural marvel that stretches 18 miles across the bay. We’ll even make a stop so you can get out on the bridge! Arriving in Norfolk, check in at the Renaissance in the historic arts and culture district. Recently benefitting from a massive restoration, enjoy a modern room with your very own river view! After a welcome reception, make yourself comfortable in your room for a little down time before heading to dinner at the Freemason Abbey Restaurant. Dine among stained glass, cathedral roof trusses and a century of history!

Day 2 – Parade of Nations, Military Tattoo and the 75th Anniversary of the End of WWII (B)
See the world from your reserved seats – the perfect vantage point to witness the Annual Parade of Nations. Watch marching bands, ROTC teams, performers and grand floats representing all 29 NATO member nations. After the parade, go around the world as you explore the NATO Festival, featuring food, beer, wine, and entertainment from all corners of the globe. Explore the International Village, try out the Allied Command simulations and visit the NATO photobooth!
Tonight is The International Tattoo, dubbed a “spectacle of music and might.” The largest celebration of its kind in the US, the Tattoo brings together more than 850 performers from several countries as well as proud soldiers from every branch
of the US Armed Forces. See rousing marching bands, stirring bagpipes and an incredible Grand March culminating with all of the bands in formation together. This year’s performance marks the 75th Anniversary of the end of World War II,
honoring the Greatest Generation.

Day 3 – The Spirit of Norfolk (B, D)
Sleep in for a relaxing morning or choose an optional excursion to the Norfolk Botanical Garden. This afternoon, gather for a guided tour of Norfolk, named America’s Favorite City by Travel & Leisure Magazine. This evening, it’s a spectacular sunset cruise with buffet dinner onboard. Cruise through the city to the Norfolk Naval Base. Enjoy reserved seating and access to the 3rd level, exterior rooftop lounge for the best views as the sun sets over America’s Atlantic Fleet.

Day 4 – Tango Yankee, Beach and Boardwalk (B)
Today, head to Rehoboth Beach, the perfect way to unwind after the excitement of Norfolk. Enjoy the beach and boardwalk with time on your own for lunch and shopping. Find the perfect souvenir before heading home with new friends and great memories.
