Experience the best of New Orleans and Atlanta, from low country plantations, to the Mighty Mississippi! Cajun dancing, bayous and Bourbon Street, southern charm, mystery, music and tons of fun are waiting just for you!

Day 1 – Southward Bound (D)   

Southward bound and the road is yours. Sit back, relax and enjoy the wifi, reclining seats and company of your fellow travelers. In Roanoke, VA, begin your southern sojourn with a welcome dinner and a restful night at the Country Inn & Suites.

Day 2 – Birmingham or Bust! (B)   

Get deeper into the south today. Destination – Birmingham, AL! Spend the night at the Double Tree in the bustling downtown.

Day 3 – The Big Easy Tonight! (B, D)   

This afternoon, arrive in New Orleans, one of the most famous cities in the world! Your Big Easy home will be the Wyndham, in the historic French Quarter. Just one block from Bourbon Street, this is a prime location, with the quiet hotel just steps away from the city’s buzz and excitement!

Spend the evening at Mulate’s – THE original Cajun Restaurant. Celebrate the city’s food, music and culture with a mouth -watering meal and Cajun dancing lessons!

Day 4 – Hello Nola! (B, L)   

On a vintage carriage, roll through 300 years of history! Ride through the city on a horse-drawn carriage ride that gives you up close views of the French Quarter and Jackson Square, home of Café Du Monde, St. Louis Cathedral and more.

Of course lunch will be at Brennan’s, named the best Restaurant in New Orleans and the inventors of Bananas Foster!

The rest of the day is yours! Explore the French Quarter and Bourbon Street with plenty of time for relaxing, shopping, music and dinner on your own. Or, join us for an optional evening on the Mighty Mississippi River!

Day 5 – Low Country! (B, L)

Begin with a bang on a swamp tour! Cruise the meandering bayous from the comfort of a Cajun-style swamp boat. You might even see a Louisiana gator! A once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Back on land, find the southern charm of low country plantations. Start with lunch at the famous Ormond Plantation, followed by a tour of the Destrehan Plantation, dating back to the 1700’s!

    The rest of the day is yours. Linger over a café au lait. Have your portrait sketched or your fortune told. A charming city brimming with excitement, find your Nola!

Day 6 – Atlanta - The Big Peach (B, D)

   With a little beignet powder on our shirt, we head to Atlanta, the Empire City of the South. Spend two nights at the Fairfield Inn & Suites, in the heart of downtown.

   With a guided tour and dinner at the Stately Oaks Plantation, it’s a perfect Atlanta welcome!

Day 7 – The Big Peach (B, L)   

Experience the best of Atlanta on a guided city tour of its iconic landmarks, beautiful views and history.

For lunch, tuck into the famous Southern Sideboard at Pittypat’s Porch, featuring 12 different southern specialties! This afternoon, go behind the scenes at the world headquarters of Coca-Cola!

Day 8 – True North (B, D)

   Today we begin the journey northward. Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner together before a restful night at the Holiday Inn in Richmond, VA.

Day 9 – DC, then Home (B)

   This afternoon, explore DC’s new Capitol Riverfront. Shop for a few more souvenirs, with plenty of time for lunch on your own before heading home.
