Bangor & Bar Harbor, Maine! Don't miss the 100th Anniversary of Acadia National Park, the Maine Lobster Festival and Campobello Island! Head northward to the ocean breezes and salt air of summer in New England! Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of our National Parks with a visit to Acadia, have “tea with Eleanor Roosevelt” plus lobster and more lobster!

Day 1 – Best of Summer in New England (D)
Travel through picturesque New England on your way to Bangor, Maine. Upon arriving at the Bangor Ramada, you’ll settle into your home for the next three nights. Tonight, we’ll continue the opening night  festivities with a welcome dinner and wine reception at McLaughlin’s Seafood Restaurant, featuring fresh local seafood. McLaughlin’s is a hidden gem and a favorite of the locals. Don’t be surprised if we’re the only tourists in the place!

Day 2 – 100th Anniversary of Acadia National Park (B)
A national celebration, 2016 marks the 100th Anniversary of our nation’s majestic National Parks and the centennial of Acadia National Park. Celebrate both on a guided driving tour of Acadia, located on Mt.
Desert Island and famous for soaring mountains, stone bridges, ocean shorelines, lakes, wildlife and much more. The fresh mountain air will take your breath away, as will the stunning views! This afternoon explore the quaint resort town of Bar Harbor for shopping, sightseeing and dinner on your own. Don’t miss this striking town surrounded by Frenchman Bay and the Porcupine Islands, set against the backdrop
of beautiful Cadillac Mountain.

Day 3 – Tea with Eleanor and Campobello Island (B, T)
Just over the border located on the Canadian coast, Campobello Island is home to the Roosevelt Cottage, the treasured retreat of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt. On a self-guided tour, see The Cottage  preserved exactly as it was in 1920. Have tea with expert guides while hearing personal stories. Spend a day savoring the famed Maine Lobster Festival of Eleanor’s life, public service, family and more. With stories accompanied by her favorite blend of tea and cookies served on linen table cloths and fine china, you’ll feel as if you’re having tea with Eleanor herself! After time to relax at the hotel, enjoy time on your own for dinner in downtown Bangor, famed for its beautiful shops and great restaurants. Your Tour Director will be happy to provide restaurant suggestions and sightseeing ideas!

Day 4 – Maine Lobster Festival (B, D)
What do you get when you mix the world’s largest lobster cooker, a sea goddess, a parade and more than 20,000 pounds of lobster? The Maine Lobster Festival, named one of the best summer food festivals in the US! Wander the through the festival’s special events and activities, with time to explore downtown Rockport, known as one of the prettiest towns in Maine. Taste your favorite foods throughout the festival (on own) and eat to your heart’s content! After the day’s festivities, relax as we head to Portland where you’ll rest for the night at the Clarion Hotel. We’ll gather together for a farewell dinner at the Old Port Grill, you can even choose to make it your final taste of lobster!

Day 5 – Portsmouth and Homeward Bound (B)
After breakfast at the hotel, explore the coastal town of Portsmouth, NH before relaxing on the ride home with new friends and fond memories.
