Welcome aboard with The Upper Class as we visit Michigan's magnificent Upper Peninsula, Mackinac Island and The Grand Hotel - there's no place like it!

 

Day One - Fremont, OH  (Meals: D)

  • Overnight at the Clarion Inn

Day Two - Mackinaw City, MI  (Meals: B)

  • Tour Colonial Michilimackinac, a 1770's fort & fur-trading outpost
  • Stay at the Clarion Inn Beachfront on the banks of Lake Michigan

Day Three - Mackinac Island & The Grand Hotel  (Meals: B, D)

  • After a short ferry ride to Mackinac Island, discover a place unlike anywhere else in the world - an island without cars, where horse-drawn carriages clip-clop down vehicle-free streets

  • Enjoy a guided tour of the island via horse & carriage

  • Check into the Grand Hotel and experience a tradition of gracious service and flawless hospitality, preserving the best of bygone eras, carefully blended with contemporary sophistication

  • Each room is uniquely decorated with beautiful Victorian furnishings

  • Indulge in a full breakfast and five-course dinner daily

Day Four - Mackinac Island   (Meals: B, D)

  • This day is yours to savor at the Grand Hotel: relax on the front porch, tour historic Fort Mackinac, golf, play tennis, swim in the 220-foot serpentine-shaped pool, visit the spa or enjoy shopping in quaint downtown. It's up to you!

Day Five - Mackinac Island to Frankenmuth, MI   (Meals: B, D)

  • After a leisurely morning, travel by horse and carriage to downtown Mackinac for shopping before we take a ferry to the mainland and head for Frankenmuth, "Michigan's Little Bavaria"

  • Check into the Marv Herzog hotel, our home for two nights

  • Enjoy a German wine tasting and dinner at the beautifully decorated Bavarian Inn

Day Six - Frankenmuth, MI   (Meals: B)

  • Historic guided tour of the area

  • Aboard the Bavarian Belle, an authentic paddlewheeler, we cruise down the scenic Cass River as our captain narrates

  • This afternoon is yours to explore picturesque Frankenmuth or take an trip to world-famous "Bronner's CHRISTmas Shop" (MEALS: B)

Day Seven - Detroit, Michigan   (Meals: B, D)

  • Guided tour of downtown Detroit to discover little known facts about the city and her famous residents

  • Tour the Motown Museum, dedicated to preserve the legacy of Motown Records.

  • Continue into Ohio for dinner, then a good night's rest at the Radisson Hotel

Day Eight - Drive Home   (Meals: B)

  • After breakfast, we head for home as you bid adieu to your new friends
